Configuring BG-Map to Work With BG-BASE for Windows

This document describes how to configure BG-Map following an upgrade from BG-BASE for DOS to BG-BASE for Windows.

Step 1 – Update the User ID File – NOTE THIS STEP MUST BE PERFORMED ON EACH BG-MAP WORKSTATION

Update the User ID file to set the correct path to the BG-BASE program and data folders - see Unraveling the Mystery of the User ID File. Note: In Windows BG-BASE, the data folder is usually named DATAWIN, not DATA.

Step 2 – Copy the File quad_chg.fil

Copy the file Quad_chg.fil from the old BG-BASE main program folder to the new one – this folder must be the same as specified in the User ID file under “BG-BASE Program Location”.

Step 3 – Restart BG-Map

Click on Help/About BG-Map.

BG-BASE for Windows should be listed as detected.
