Here's how to get the information from your computer:
Send in updated results as frequently as you wish.

Number of mapped living plants

Enter the command MAPCOUNT at the BG-Map Pseudo-TCL command line.

Number of mapped removed or dead plants

Enter the command COUNT MAP_COORDINATES WITH ALIVE = 0 at the BG-Map Pseudo-TCL command line.

Number of living accessioned plants

To count all living accessioned plants, enter the command COUNT PLANTS WITH ALIVE = 'A' at the BG-Map Pseudo-TCL command line.

You can exclude from the count plants in certain BG-BASE Locations. For example, if the location code for the nursery is NURSERY, and you wish to exclude plants in that location from the count, enter the command as follows: COUNT PLANTS WITH ALIVE EQ 'A' AND WITH LOCATION_NOW NE ‘NURSERY’

You can also exclude herbaceous plants if you don't intend to map them. The command in the following example, excludes plants in locations NURSERY and PROP and also excludes herbaceous plants: COUNT PLANTS WITH ALIVE EQ 'A' AND WITH LOCATION_NOW NE ‘NURSERY’ AND WITH LOCATION_NOW NE ‘PROP’ AND WITH HABIT NE ‘H’ (Of course, you will need to insert your own Location codes for the areas that you wish to exclude)

Note: If you are still using DOS BG-BASE (prior to release 6), use LOCATION.NOW instead of LOCATION_NOW in the above statements.

Number of living accessions

Enter the command COUNT ACCESSIONS WITH ALIVE = ‘A’ at the BG-Map Pseudo-TCL command line.
